Welcome to this blog for caregivers! Whether I talk with a full-time mom, a husband whose wife has been diagnosed with an incurable disease, or someone who is trying to care for their personal health challenges, I have noticed that caregivers have similar concerns. They can feel isolated, worried, frustrated, overwhelmed, and alone.
Many questions plague them, such as-
- Am I doing enough?
- How can I get more sleep?
- Where do I go for answers?
- What can I do when I am burnt out?
Caregiver concerns are endless. This site is designed to empower you with something to encourage you through your struggles. It is also here to help you know that you are not alone. My sociology degree, coupled with a life-long love of helping others led me to work with various caregivers. First I was in the hospital setting, followed by over a decade of working with long-term caregivers.
I know firsthand what it is like to care for someone who needs care, yet does not want to be cared for. Even though I both sympathize and empathize, my story is not the important one on this blog. Your story is paramount to anything I could say. As you find yourself in the scenarios described here, please comment. Your comments may be cathartic for you and helpful to others as well.
Cheers to all of you, my new friends! Let’s make the most of this journey together.
